A new meeting format was launched in 2006 with the introduction of Cornea
Day 2006, a co-sponsored meeting by the Cornea Society and the ASCRS Cornea
Clinical Committee prior to the ASCRS Symposium and Congress. This one-day
cornea meeting focused on medical and surgical cornea disease. In addition
cornea complications of cataract and refractive surgery were discussed.
This new one-day symposium provided an excellent overview of ocular surface
disease as well as discusses new techniques and technology for penetrating
keratoplasty. The dynamic program featured lectures, debates, panel discussions,
and surgical video reviews from a well-known faculty.
